Is CAA Act Unethical or Logical ?
Every individual understands the world as per their perception. They deduce their way of life through the knowledge they gain. Every individual has the right to live their life in their way.
Everyone must have heard of people debating whether CAA Act 2019 is ethical or not.
I would say the act is logical rather than unethical. Though India has around 11% percentage of Muslims in the world, India has never been the preferred refugee destination for Muslim refugees. Their much-preferred destination is Western or European countries.
Though most of these Muslim refugees are from Muslim countries, it's not that they are running away from Islam but they are in search of development or more rights. We don't hear of any Muslim refugees coming from the rich Muslim States unless there is an issue of rights.
India has not signed the United Nations Refugee Convention because India's borders are porous in South Asia. Frequent movement of people would cause strain on its infrastructure, resources, and security.
Besides that India is doing its duty by hosting refugees and asylum seekers from every country regardless of caste or religion.
I think people are confusing the CAA Act 2019 as its aim is to provide citizenship and not to refuse help to refugees or asylum seekers.
Many rich Muslim countries themselves are not providing any refuge or asylum to these people. Whatever may be the reason, I have heard, one should provide help to your brother and sisters.
Everyone knows how the minority population is treated in any country, so I feel it's right to provide citizenship to such people. In refusing to provide citizenship to Muslim refugees the Government Of India has a valid point that there are so many Muslim countries where Muslim refugees can apply and India is anyways not their preferred choice.
I think it's always beneficial to be liberal and democratic.
